Inquiry That Keeps Its Shape.
One answer exposes a hidden premise; one definition opens a different question; an old idea returns in a new light. Here is how to use Angrove so a conversation becomes a body of thought instead of another scrolling transcript.

Answers That Read Like a Page, Not a Chat Log
Routine questions get a direct answer. Harder ones get deeper reasoning, with a short note on how Angrove approached the question. You see the approach, never raw scratch work.
Terms worth a closer look are underlined in the answer, so you can open any of them without leaving your place.

Aquinas on Justice
What does Aquinas say about the virtue of justice?

Here's the thing about in the view of : it's a , but a more specific one than being “good” in general. Justice is about our relationship with others, giving each what they are due. That is where comes in: how a community shares its common goods among its members.

02 · Branch
Follow a Line of Thought Without Losing Your Place
A conversation can hold branches side by side. Start one from a quoted concept or a copy of an answer, and pursue the objection, the tangent, or the harder version of the question. The original line stays exactly where you left it.
Aquinas on Justice
What does Aquinas say about the virtue of justice?
Justice is about our relationship with others: giving each what they are due. Aquinas calls it the chief of the moral virtues, because it orders us toward the common good.
“giving each their due”
Is mercy ever unjust, then?
Not for Aquinas. Mercy doesn't take away what is owed; it gives more than is owed. So mercy goes beyond justice without working against it.
Open a branch, then go back to the main line.
03 · Keep
Keep the Terms That Matter
Tap an underlined term for a definition written for the context of your conversation, not a dictionary entry. Quote it, branch from it, or save it as an Insight.
Saved Insights gather in your Insight Library and join the conversation's Insight Tree. Save the same term from a different conversation and its new meaning is added to the same card.

04 · Map
The Insight Tree: A Map of What You've Pursued
Not a map of everything, only of the questions you asked and the ideas you chose to keep. It grows as you study, it's built entirely on your iPhone, and over time it shows how your thinking changed.
Node Concepts
Subjects Take Shape on Their Own
After each answer, Angrove quietly reviews the turn in the background and may add one Node Concept: the broader subject the conversation has reached. Whether it becomes a new node or joins an existing one is decided by how closely its meaning matches the subjects already in your tree.
It never saves Insights for you. Those are always your choice.
Insights
Insights Are the Terms You Keep
An Insight is a definition you saved from a conversation. It settles near the Node Concepts it relates to, in that conversation's tree and in your global tree, which gathers every Insight you've saved.
Changes to the global tree wait for you: when new bookmarks are ready to be placed, you choose when to update it.
2 new Insights
Saved since your global tree was last arranged. Update it to place them.
Your global tree only changes when you say so.
Midpoint
Find the Idea Between Ideas
Select two to eight Insights or Node Concepts and drag a handle toward the ones that should weigh most. Angrove proposes five candidate concepts, and your phone picks the one whose meaning sits closest to the weighted center of your selection.
It's a calculation in the space of meanings, not a request to blend some words together.

Synderesis
The innate grasp of the first principles of practical reason, which conscience then applies to particular acts.
Two Insights are selected, then Midpoint begins.
Make Node
Grow an Insight Into a Subject
When a single Insight deserves room of its own, promote it to a Node Concept. Angrove generates three distinct ideas beneath it and spaces them apart so they don't crowd what's already there.
Promote the selected Insight.
Study
Study a Subject in Three Dimensions
Choose Study on any Node Concept and the camera swings down to eye level. Its Insights spread out around it in 3D, and the rest of the tree fades away.
Drag the ring to turn it like a turntable, tap an Insight to bring it forward, and exit to land back exactly where you were in the tree.

05 · Return
Come Back to What's Unfinished
Home opens with one Question of the Day, drawn from an idea you left unresolved in a recent conversation. It asks for reflection, not recall. Alongside it, a few quiet cards appear only when there's something worth showing:
Today in History
An event from today's date, from a small catalog written by hand, not generated.
Loose Thread
A Node Concept that hasn't connected to anything else yet.
Terms You Glossed Over
A definition you looked up days ago and never saved.
Your Quote
Something you wrote that was an original thought of your own.
Home changes as your study does.

A Few Habits That Help
Ask It As You Hold It
Bring the real question, doubts and all. Angrove represents your view at its strongest before it questions it.
Push Back
If an answer doesn't hold, say why. It is built to revise its conclusions when your reasoning warrants it.
Branch, Don't Overwrite
Take the objection or tangent into a branch, so the main line stays clear to come back to.
Save Only What You'll Return To
Insights shape your tree. Keep the terms that matter and let the rest go.
